DC ROLLERGIRLS OPEN 2009-10 SEASON THIS SUNDAY AT THE DC ARMORY

Washington, D.C. – The DC Rollergirls are ready to rumble! Season four opens this Sunday as the District’s own all-female roller derby league returns to skate action at the DC Armory. The DC DemonCats, last season’s champions, meet Scare Force One at 4 p.m.

Sunday’s action begins with an exhibition bout between the DCRG’s Cherry Blossom Bombshells and the Wilmington Ruff Rollers of Wilmington, Del. The halftime performance of the main bout features the D-Block Crew, the award-winning step team from Dominion High School in Sterling, Va.

This season, the competition start time has moved up one hour; doors will now open to the public at 3 p.m. with competition starting at 4 p.m.

Tickets are $12 for ages 12 and up, $6 for children 6-11 and free for kids 5 and under. Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com or at the door on bout day. Individuals with a valid military ID can purchase tickets for $10 at the door.

The DC Armory is easily accessible by the Metro on the Blue and Orange lines (Stadium-Armory station) and numerous bus lines. Secured parking is also available.
