EAGLEBANK BOWL TO HOST COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND VOLUNTEER INFORMATION SUMMIT ON OCTOBER 22

Summit invites area residents, charities and local businesses to get involved in D.C.’s College Football Bowl Game

Washington, D.C. – The EagleBank Bowl will hold a Community Involvement and Volunteer Information Summit at the Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel on Thursday, October 22 from 7 – 8:30 p.m.

At this summit, interested persons, charities and local businesses can meet EagleBank Bowl officials and staff, learn the variety of ways to get involved or volunteer with the 2009 EagleBank Bowl and learn more about the 2009 game and bowl week activities.

“This is the D.C. region’s bowl game and everyone has a chance to get involved whether you are an individual, group, charity or local business,” said Steve Beck, Executive Director of the EagleBank Bowl. “Last year’s inaugural EagleBank Bowl owes much of its success to the tremendous support and tireless dedication of our volunteers. At this summit, we look forward to welcoming new faces to the EagleBank Bowl community.”

Active opportunities in 2009 include:

  • EagleBank Bowl Ambassador Program - Represent the EagleBank Bowl in your local community via three category levels
  • “Top 60” Program – Ticket recognition program for individuals and charities
  • EagleBank Bowl Youth Football Initiative – Fundraising program involving regional youth football leagues
  • dEBBit Card Program – Local businesses can get involved by participating in a consumer purchase card program  
  • Bowl Week Volunteer Team – Volunteer for game or bowl week activities

This year’s EagleBank Bowl is set for Tuesday, December 29 at 4:30 p.m. at RFK Stadium. The game will match Army against a team from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). If Army is not bowl-eligible, a team from Conference USA will be selected as the ACC opponent. Tickets for the game start at $30 and can be purchased at any Ticketmaster outlet, by calling (800) 551-7328 or at www.ticketmaster.com.
