GIVE THANKS FOR ROLLER DERBY AT THE DC ARMORY SATURDAY

DC DemonCats and Cherry Blossom Bombshells meet November 28 in clash of teams from last year’s championship bout

Washington, D.C. – Relieve some holiday stress and work off that Thanksgiving turkey by cheering on the DC Rollergirls this Saturday at the DC Armory.

On November 28, the defending champion DC DemonCats and the Cherry Blossom Bombshells will break bread –and each other – in a bout that features a rematch of teams from last year’s championship. Doors open at 3 p.m. and the action begins at 4 p.m.

The wheels start rolling with an exhibition bout featuring DCRG’s Scare Force One against the Heavy Metal Hookers of Philadelphia. The halftime performance of the main bout features the movement artists of Revolutionary Motion and Surprise Hoops.

Cure Black Friday shopping exhaustion with the whole family. In addition to the track action, there is face-painting for kids and plenty of beer stations for “big kids.”

Tickets are $12 for ages 12 and up, $6 for children 6-11 and free for kids 5 and under. Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com or at the door on bout day. Individuals with a valid military ID can purchase tickets for $10 at the door.

The DC Armory is easily accessible by the Metro on the Blue and Orange lines (Stadium-Armory station) and numerous bus lines. Secured parking is also available.
