NAVY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION LATEST SPONSOR TO BECOME PART OF INAUGURAL EAGLEBANK BOWL

WASHINGTON, DC — SThe DC Bowl Committee, Inc. is proud to announce Navy Federal Credit Union will join Ameritel, EagleBank and Marriott as a Founding Sponsor for the inaugural EagleBank Bowl, which takes place Saturday, December 20th, at RFK Stadium. The announcement was made by Sean Metcalf, Founder of the EagleBank Bowl.

“Attracting quality sponsors such as Navy Federal is very important to both the overall success of the EagleBank Bowl and in underscoring our commitment to the military,” said Metcalf, Founder of the EagleBank Bowl.  “We hope to always have one of the service academies participating in this game and sponsors with strong ties to the military are very important in making that a reality.”

“Navy Federal is honored to be a part of this Bowl which highlights the great men and women and their families who serve our country,” said Cutler Dawson, President/CEO Navy Federal Credit Union.
Navy Federal was organized in 1933 with just seven members and has now grown to over 3 million members. The company’s dedication to service is a big reason why military personnel choose Navy Federal, and more importantly, stay with Navy Federal long after they are no longer in the military.

"We are excited to have Navy Federal Credit Union join the EagleBank Bowl as a Founding Sponsor.  With two of the three service academies currently involved in our Bowl, Navy Federal's involvement was a natural fit." said Marie Rudolph, Founder of the EagleBank Bowl. "The Naval Academy playing in our inaugural game makes it that much more meaningful."

The EagleBank Bowl, Washington, D.C.’s first intercollegiate Division 1A bowl game and the first game of the 2008 lineup of post season games will be broadcast live on ESPN, with kickoff at 11:00 a.m.

EAGLEBANK BOWL
The DC Bowl Committee, Inc. was formed as a community and charitable organization to host the first-ever NCAA-sanctioned, post-season bowl game in Washington, DC. On September 10, 2008 the dream became a reality when the EagleBank Bowl officially became a part of the D.C. sports and entertainment landscape. While the DC Bowl Committee brought the game to the region there are two other entities that are valued contributors in making this game a marquee event. The DC Sports and Entertainment Commission has been a valued partner from the very beginning. When EagleBank signed on as a title sponsor it gave the game instant credibility particularly in the business community. The game kicks off the 2008 bowl season on Saturday, December 20th, at RFK Stadium live on ESPN.  The goals for bringing the game to Washington include boosting the regional economy, putting the nation’s capital on the map as a college football destination and to raise money for several local charities.
