EAGLEBANK BOWL MAKES POSITIVE CHOICE A SPONSORSHIP SELECTION
WASHINGTON, DC — The EagleBank Bowl is proud to announce that Positive Choices, Inc., an organization created to enrich disadvantaged inner-city youths, has been named as one of the charities for the inaugural 2008 EagleBank Bowl, which takes place Saturday, December 20th, at RFK Stadium. The announcement was made by Sean Metcalf, Founder of the EagleBank Bowl.
“The EagleBank Bowl is more than just a football game; it is a community event," said Metcalf. “The EagleBank Bowl recognizes the impact Positive Choices has in the D.C. community and on our inner-city youth. Their dedication to shaping the lives of these youths should be financially supported as they open a world of opportunity for each child’s future.”
“We are extremely thankful to the EagleBank Bowl in recognizing our dedication to our inner-city youth here in Washington, D.C.,” said Aazaar Rahim, President and CEO of Positive Choices, Inc. “The EagleBank Bowl should be praised for their commitment to the Washington, D.C. community and be applauded for bringing such an event of this magnitude to Washington, D.C. Positive Choices is excited to be involved with a college bowl game in our city and look forward to doing our part to insure a successful event.”
Within the past six years, over 75 NFL former & current players have participated as mentors through Positive Choices programs. EagleBank Bowl’s involvement with Positive Choices supports these programs, tying in football at a collegiate level, to provide both educational and recreational outlets for the children. Positive Choices’ positive environment, commitment and influence by adult mentors has provided these youths with college exposure from numerous colleges and universities. The exposure has led to 15 full scholarships being awarded to youth to four-year institutions.
“We were able to mentor a young man who became a 10th grade father at the age of 15,” said Rahim. “He was able to persevere through obstacles, embraced the principles that were instilled in him through Positive Choices and received a full athletic scholarship to Morgan State University where he now is a college freshman.”
"The EagleBank Bowl is a community event." said Marie Rudolph, Founder of the EagleBank Bowl. "Positive Choices is an important part of our community and their ongoing work with D.C.'s inner-city youth deserves our support."

EAGLEBANK BOWL
The DC Bowl Committee, Inc. was formed as a community and charitable organization to host the first-ever NCAA-sanctioned, post-season bowl game in Washington, DC. On September 10, 2008 the dream became a reality when the EagleBank Bowl officially became a part of the D.C. sports and entertainment landscape. While the DC Bowl Committee brought the game to the region there are two other entities that are valued contributors in making this game a marquee event. The DC Sports and Entertainment Commission has been a valued partner from the very beginning. When EagleBank signed on as a title sponsor it gave the game instant credibility particularly in the business community. The game kicks off the 2008 bowl season on Saturday, December 20th, at RFK Stadium live on ESPN. The goals for bringing the game to Washington include boosting the regional economy, putting the nation’s capital on the map as a college football destination and to raise money for several local charities.
