POST-SUPER BOWL, FOOTBALL ACTION CONTINUES AT THE DC ARMORY
DC Armor host Reading Express in DC Armory home opener April 4; Inaugural training camp to be February 26 – March 6
WASHINGTON, DC — The Super Bowl champion has been crowned, but for Washington, D.C. football enthusiasts, the gridiron excitement continues as the DC Armor readies for its inaugural season in the DC Armory. Training camp approaches, preparations are underway, the field is being laid and fans are excited.
The Armor opens its season at the Reading Express on Friday, March 13th and meet the Express again for their home opener in the DC Armory on Saturday, April 4th. During the 14-game regular season, the Armor will host seven games on its home field inside the DC Armory.
“We are in full swing preparing for the DC Armor season,” said Erik Moses, CEO of the DC Sports and Entertainment Commission. “The RFK Stadium-DC Armory campus has played host to some of the most memorable moments in football history, and I know we expect to see many more as we welcome the District’s newest professional team to the DC Armory.”
With only weeks left until the Armor season begins, fans can reserve their preferred seats for the hottest, most affordable game in town. Single-game tickets start at $20 apiece and value-pack season tickets, which include food packages, premium seating, group discounts, merchandise and apparel, start at $155. All tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com) or by calling 202-432-SEATS.
The inaugural DC Armor training camp is set for February 26 – March 6 at the Soccer Dome in Jessup, MD – near BWI Airport. Fans will have the chance to get a first look at the 2009 DC Armor squad as they prepare for their first season. Details will be available later this month.
