SHAMROCKFEST AND DC ROLLERGIRLS ON TAP AT STADIUM-ARMORY CAMPUS ON MARCH 14
ShamrockFest to feature 11 stages and 50 live bands and DJs during day-long event at RFK Stadium; DC DemonCats clash with Scare Force One in pivotal Rollergirls bout in DC Armory
(Washington, DC) – On Saturday, March 14, the Stadium-Armory campus will feature both non-stop good music and fast-paced action when the ninth annual ShamrockFest returns to the RFK Stadium festival grounds and the DC Rollergirls invade the DC Armory for the league’s fifth bout of the season.
“Both of these events are fun, affordable brands of entertainment and having them on the Stadium-Armory campus on the same day allows everyone to experience them both,” said Erik Moses, Chief Executive Officer of the DC Sports and Entertainment Commission. “We have been pleased with the energized crowds at Rollergirls bouts all season and the ShamrockFest is now regarded as one of the premier music festivals in the country. It should be a really fun day at both locations.”
With 11 stages, 50 incredible live bands and DJs, and an expected crowd of more than 20,000, ShamrockFest is regarded as one of the most popular St. Patrick’s Day parties in the Mid-Atlantic. Gates open at 1 pm and the festival concludes at 9 pm.
For eight action-packed hours, shamrock-clad partygoers can enjoy dozens of simultaneous live performances ranging from rock, to reggae, to folk music throughout the massive festival area and DJ Zone.
ShamrockFest is open to leprechauns of all ages with activities for kids, adults and adults who act like kids. With two carnival-style amusement areas, activity booths, food vendors, hoops coverage in the NCAA viewing tent, and, of course, the endless supply of that most celebrated St. Paddy’s Day beverage – beer, ShamrockFest has something for everyone. One of the crowd favorites, the Irish Village, features authentic Irish entertainers, local pub and restaurant booths, and the infamous Shamrock Pub Games.
Members of the DC Armor – the District’s new professional indoor football team – and their dance team, the Body Armor, will host team and individual games where brave soles can compete in games such as the Green Egg Toss, Green Egg on a Spoon and Best Legs in a Kilt competition for prizes of $500 each.

At halftime, the DC Anime Club will present a “Cosplay Fashion Show,” showcasing costume craftsmanship by its members.
Prior to the main event, the Cherry Blossom Bombshells line up against the Boardwalk Brawlers of Shore Points Roller Derby in the expo bout.
