Tickets on sale now for 2009 CONCACAF Gold Matches at RFK Stadium
Tickets go on sale Friday, April 17
(Washington, DC) – Tickets for 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup first round games, to be held Wednesday, July 8 at RFK Stadium, are currently on sale to the general public.
Prices start at $30 and a Family Four Pack option of four tickets at a discounted rate are available through July 7. Fans wishing to purchase tickets may visit www.goldcup.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
Haiti and Grenada meet in the first game of the doubleheader at 7 p.m. and two-time defending champion USA meets Honduras in the second game at 9 p.m. The USA and Honduras last met at RFK Stadium in September 2001 for a World Cup qualifier game before 54,282 fans, the third largest soccer crowd in RFK Stadium history.
“RFK Stadium is proud to host another world-class soccer event,” said Erik Moses, CEO of the DC Sports and Entertainment Commission. “We expect a great crowd and two competitive and exciting games.”
The Gold Cup, which features the 12 best CONCACAF national teams competing for the region’s biennial title, begins July 3 at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles and concludes with the championship match at Giants Stadium on July 26. In addition to RFK Stadium, tickets are available for all 25 games in 13 venues across the United States.
