DC DEMONCATS CAPTURE THEIR FIRST-EVER
DC ROLLERGIRLS LEAGUE TITLE AT DC ARMORY

* Cherry Blossom Bombshells and DC DemonCats battle for league title

* Championship day activities to include NASCAR Showcar Exhibit and halftime performance by the Greenbelt (Md.) S.I.T.Y. Stars

(Washington, DC) – Behind the fierce skating of Free Radical (45 points) and Camilla the Hun (29 points), the DC DemonCats defeated the Cherry Blossom Bombshells, 84-79, to capture their first-ever DC Rollergirls league title before 1,227 rowdy fans at the DC Armory Saturday night. The two teams traded leads throughout the night and were tied at 75 with 6:27 remaining. Camilla the Hun scored the ‘Cats last nine points during the bout’s last two jams to secure the exciting victory.

“We all worked very hard this year and this was truly a team effort to win this title,” said co-captain Camilla the Hun. “The Bombshells are a great team and it was a hard-fought bout. Both teams really wanted it and it showed. Fans for both teams kept the energy high throughout the night.”

Co-captain X-abishinest led the Bombshells with 49 points.

Scare Force One won the DCRG league titles in 2007 and 2008.
